A Simple Prayer

Donna Hostetler, May 19, 2015

“Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a word spoken in right circumstances.”  Proverbs 25:11

After a long, unexpected day at the hospital with my mom, I returned to her apartment home to pick up a few of her personal belongings for the extended stay. As I passed through the hallway, I had a short conversation with a familiar face but not someone I actually knew except in passing. She inquired about my mom, and I shared briefly about the day. This stranger quickly inquired if she could pray for me. She proceeded to lift me up to the Father. It was simple but amazing and just what I needed. I reflected on this all the way home in my car. What a gift, what a faithful servant. And it challenged me. As I coach others in ministry, I hope I can always be sensitive to hear their heart and perhaps unspoken need, and not just their words.

Lord, I want to say thanks for this caring woman and ask you to bless her. And I want to ask for forgiveness for missed opportunities of prayer. One of our strong desires in ministry is to encourage those we work with through MinistryWave. Bless all those who serve you faithfully and help us to be faithful in seeking your wisdom for them and in prayer for them!
